Fiona (she/her) is a Psychotherapist and registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Following a decade of work in leadership development with university students, Fiona obtained a Master of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University.
Fiona has spent the past years managing a DBT program at a mental health agency as a team lead and has provided individual and family therapy in multiple modalities of psychotherapy. She is passionate about the clarity and challenge that DBT offers to clients and therapists alike.
Fiona brings empathy, creativity and curiosity to her work with clients, along with a healthy dose of humour where appropriate. She has been privileged to witness many DBT clients gain understanding and learn skills to change behaviours and transform their lives as she has supported them with experiences of self-harm, suicidality, borderline personality disorder, post-traumatic stress, mood and anxiety disorders
Fiona has worked with youth, adults, and families from various cultural backgrounds, belief systems, abilities, sexualities and gender identities and is committed to fostering environments that make room for each person’s lived experience and wisdom. She is passionate about co-creating space for new perspectives and holds great respect for stories shared in the therapeutic process.
In her spare time, Fiona enjoys spending time with friends, planning trips, and tending to her backyard bees.
